How to Verify a Roofer’s Local Experience in Dallas–Fort Worth

Any roofing company can say it serves Dallas–Fort Worth. A stronger way to evaluate local experience is to look for evidence you can inspect: completed projects, location records, photographs, written scopes, storm context and clear warranty information.

Roofing Giant maintains a public completed-project dataset and map so homeowners, property managers, associations and local publishers can verify the kind of work the company has documented across North Texas. As of October 1, 2026, the public dataset contains 473 mapped project locations across 57 Dallas–Fort Worth cities. Public map locations are generalized to protect homeowner privacy.

Browse the completed roofing project map or review the October 2026 DFW roofing project data report.

1. Look for completed projects, not just a city list

A service-area page can tell you where a contractor wants to work. Completed-project evidence tells you where the company has documented actual work. Look for project records that connect a city to photographs, materials, scope details or other project documentation.

Roofing Giant’s completed-project map lets visitors browse mapped project locations across Dallas–Fort Worth and open published project case studies where documentation is available.

2. Verify the business location separately from project coverage

A roofer’s office address and its completed-project footprint answer different questions. Check both. Roofing Giant publishes canonical location records for its Dallas office and Frisco office. For project coverage, use the public project map rather than assuming an office address represents every area served.

3. Check what the project record actually documents

Useful project evidence should go beyond a stock “before and after” image. Depending on the available file, look for details such as the roofing system, shingle or membrane type, underlayment, starter, ridge components, flashing, ventilation, gutters, photographs and the documented scope of work.

That matters because a roof is a system. A written proposal should make clear what is included, what is excluded and how concealed conditions will be handled if they are discovered. See the roof repair vs. replacement guide and roofing warranty guide.

4. Separate storm history from roof condition and insurance coverage

Hail or wind history can provide useful context, but it does not prove that a particular roof was damaged and it does not determine insurance coverage. Roof condition still requires an inspection, and coverage depends on the policy and the insurer’s claim decision.

Use Roofing Giant’s North Texas storm-history tools for weather context and the Texas roof insurance claim process guide for claim-process information.

5. Compare the written scope, price assumptions and warranty

Before comparing prices, make sure proposals describe comparable work. Ask what happens if damaged decking is discovered, what ventilation and flashing work is included, which manufacturer system is proposed, how cleanup is handled and what workmanship warranty applies.

For early budgeting, Roofing Giant provides a DFW roof replacement cost calculator. It is a planning tool, not a binding proposal; an actual price requires a roof-specific scope.

What should make you look closer?

  • A long list of cities with no project evidence, office record or other verifiable local information.
  • Only stock photography when the company claims extensive completed work.
  • No written explanation of what the roofing scope includes.
  • Promises that a storm report alone proves roof damage or guarantees insurance coverage.
  • Warranty language that does not identify what is actually covered and by whom.

A practical DFW verification checklist

  • Confirm the contractor’s current business and location information.
  • Verify the applicable city contractor-registration rules; see our Texas roofer license & DFW contractor-registration guide.
  • Check the applicable city permit rule before work starts; see our DFW roof permit requirements by city.
  • Review documented projects in or near your city.
  • Look for original photographs and project-specific scope details where available.
  • Ask for an inspection-based recommendation rather than relying on roof age alone.
  • Compare written scopes before comparing final prices.
  • Read the workmanship and manufacturer warranty terms.
  • Treat storm history as context, not proof of damage or coverage.
