Roofing built to code isn’t optional – it’s what keeps your roof performing (and your warranty valid) for the long run. Every Roofing Giant installation follows current International Residential Code (IRC) and International Building Code (IBC) requirements, documented and verified by our own inspectors on every project.
What We Follow On Every Roof
Ice & Water Barrier
IRC-required ice and water shield (IWS) at eave edges in cold-weather conditions, plus proper redecking and solid sheathing per current code tables.
Ventilation
Correct net ventilation and minimum venting requirements, including baffle vents on vaulted ceilings, so your attic breathes the way it’s designed to.
Flashing & Drip Edge
No reuse of old flashings – every flashing is replaced to manufacturer spec and properly primed, with correct drip edge installation at every eave and rake.
Valleys & Crickets
Proper valley lining and flashing, plus code-required crickets on chimneys wider than 30 inches to divert water away from vulnerable areas.
Sheathing & Decking
Correct sheathing nailing patterns and solid-sheathed deck requirements, with a clear recovering-versus-replacement assessment on every project.
Manufacturer Standards
Every material – hip, ridge, starter strip, and field shingles – is installed exactly to the manufacturer’s published instructions, which is what keeps your warranty valid.
This code compliance is also what protects you during an insurance claim – our restoration process documents every finding against current IRC/IBC standards, so nothing gets missed (or shortchanged) by an adjuster.
