From the project file
A complex roof with active leaks
The first project began after the file recorded hail damage and active leaks in late 2015. The home has steep slopes, a chimney and several intersecting roof sections. The records include an aerial measurement report used in preparing the roofing scope.
The 2016 replacement
The January 2016 material order specified Owens Corning laminated shingles in Driftwood, along with ridge cap, synthetic underlayment, starter strip, valley membrane, drip edge and pipe flashings. The project was marked completed in February 2016.
A complete material list matters on a roof with many transitions. The shingle is one part of the assembly; the edges, valleys and penetrations also need a defined scope.
The homeowner returned in 2022
Under a later insurance project, the same homeowner selected Roofing Giant again. The June 2022 order listed GAF Timberline HD shingles in Weathered Wood, Z-Ridge ridge cap, FeltBuster underlayment and Pro-Start starter strip. Installation photographs from that month show work on the front slopes and details at the valleys and chimney.
The second project’s administrative file closed in May 2023. The installation photographs and the file closeout date record different stages of the job.
What the photographs show
The work-in-progress photograph shows exposed areas and crews on the steep front elevation. The roof-detail photographs show shingle courses at intersecting slopes and flashing at the chimney base. These are original photographs from the 2022 project file.
