- Call Insurance Company. To submit an insurance claim call the insurance company the number that is on the homeowner’s insurance policy. Most of the insurance companies work till 7pm and many of them work 24/7. If you cannot submit the claim right there then do it next day via a conference call. First, call the homeowner and then add to the conversation the insurance company. Make sure you have the insurance info written down.
When speaking with the insurance company representative, let them know that you want to submit an insurance claim. Provide them with the homeowner policy number and if needed the address of the property. Instruct the homeowner to let you know when the insurance adjuster will be coming so you could be there. Explain the importance of you being present when the insurance adjuster comes to inspect the roof. Here is the sample explanation speech, “The insurance company tries to pay as little as possible. I will be here to make sure we can include in the claim all the damage found. Sometimes insurance adjusters do not want to see the damage on the fence or window screens, or doghouse.
