Asphalt Starter

- It is clear on Xactimate's FAQ page (see screen print attached) that the replace (+) activities for composition roofing shingles do not include any assumptions for hip and ridge cap shingles, starter shingles, drip edge, valley metal, other flashings, pipe jacks or roofing vents. Each roof accessory type is available within the Xactimate price lists as a separate line item.
- The roof area (field shingles) alone are included in the 10% waste factor calculations. Additional materials needed for ridge, hip, valley, and starter lengths are not included. This is confirmed by EagleView in a note beneath their waste calculation table. (See EagleView attached)
